On September 3, 1949, BoxOffice reported, “Brussels, IL. - A drive-in has been opened here in the vacant lot next to Held’s store with admission of 25 cents for adults and 5 cents for children”. It was a 16mm operation and was operated by the Chamber of Commerce.

“Drive-In” was listed under Brussels in the 1950 Film Daily Year Book. It is possible it only last for one or two seasons.

The only store in Brussels today is the Red & White, which has a vacant lot behind it.

Another note from the Sept. 3, 1949 BoxOffice, “Word comes from Lovington, Ill., that the drive-in planned for that community will operate with 16mm films. Sam Randall is said to be the owner. The little drive-in at Brussels also uses 16mm pictures.”
