W.F. McLaughlin opened the Myrmax Theatre in Huntersville, NC, on July 3, 1946. The 300-seat theatre experimented with free Sunday shows when a blue law prevented Sunday movies. It was not enough as the Myrmax Theatre closed after just two years of operation in July of 1948.
