Cinema XXI Aprile

Located in the Nomentano neighborhood in the north of the city centre. The Cinema XXI Aprile was opened by 1940. A long-shuttered cinema and variety (Vaudeville) theatre. Many well-known singing and comic performers, stars of the Italian music stage, performed here, such as Aldo Fabrizi, Renato Rascel, Alberto Sordi. The theatre is now a 24/7 food market.

A film listing in the May 18, 1940 edition of Il Messaggero gives this cinema as playing two films: “Fanfulla da Lodi” with Germana Paolieri, and “Aria di paese” with Macario.
