Built around 1986, the Middletown Cinemas is a basic, no-frills, but inexpensive and decent venue for catching new releases. It has always been independently operated. The current management provides clean, comfortable, welcoming environment along with a quality presentation.

It may have been part of a chain but not AMC or Bow Tie since they didn’t exist in the 1980s.
It was always an .indy
It was a second run discount theater, one of the only ones in the NYC suburbs but became first run about 5 years ago.
