The 1914 Sanborn shows a theatre operating in a two-story brick building which slopes to one story at the back. The theatre is quite deep and narrow, and the stage is in a small one-story rectangular structure running across the back. The 1906 Sanborn shows the lot occupied by a wooden grocery store, so this may have been purpose built. The Rex Theatre was closed in 1929 and the theatre was destroyed in a fire.
Both this building and its neighbor to the east were demolished long ago. The site is a vacant lot, and has been since at least 2007. The street number is a guess. At the time the map was made, the number was 122 W. Jackson Street, with the railroad tracks serving as the E/W divider.

If the identification as the Rex is indeed correct, it also presented stage acts. A 1912 issue of ‘The Player’ lists it among ‘Houses which Book Independently’. It was then managed by a Mr. McNamara. The section containing the stage did protrude beyond the east side of the building, so perhaps this contained dressing rooms.
