Located in the east city centre district of Hammerbrook. The Colosseum Lichtspiele opened in 1918 and contained a stage. The theatrer was operated by Paul Bremme in 1925. In 1927 Paul Besse took over. He also operated the Harmonie Lichtspiele on Hamburger Strasse and the Tivoli Theatre on Billhorner Rohrendamm (both of these have their own page on Cinema treasures). In 1932 a Klanfilm sound system was added. In 1944 the Colosseum Lichtspiele was closed and demolished by Allied bombs during World War II.
