Owners Jimmy and Brooke Sweeney note: “The Grand Berry Theater seeks to be the first theater in Fort Worth specializing in screening independent, local, and art house film".
The Grand Berry Theater, seating 50, opened August 24, 2019, with “Midsommar” and then the director’s cut on August 30. It was closed on March 27, 2022.
The Grand Berry Theatre notes it takes its name from two former Fort Worth neighborhood theatres that still stand, the Grand Theatre on Fabons Street and the Berry Theatre on Hemphill Street.
