Located in Bridgwater, Somerset. The Victoria Hall was built in the late-1800’s. It was partially rebuilt and refurbished to open as the Bijou Cinema on 6th October 1910. The screen was surrounded by a gilded frame and variety acts were also part of the programme. It was closed in late-summer of 1912 for alterations to be carried out. It re-opened in November 1912.
In 1917 it was taken over by the Albany Ward Circuit. Taken over by the Provincial Cinematograph Theatres(PCT) chain in 1920, by 1923 Albany Ward was again operating the cinema. The Bijou Cinema was closed in 1930 as a silent cinema, having never been equipped for sound films.
In 2019 the building is in use as Bar 27, a bar and banquet hall.
