Fama Kino #2

Located in the Altona district of Lurup at the west side of the city. The 330-seat Fama Kino #2 replaced the Fama Kino #1 at Lurupa Hauptstrasse 276 (which has its own page on Cinema Treasures) and opened in November 1971. The name Fama was short for Familie Mallasch (family Mallasch). Gerd Foelster operated the Fama Kino #2. Later in 1983 the theatre was operated by Liselotte & Horst Konig. In 1993 Hans Peter Jansen took over. The sound system was by Dolby SR & Dolby Digital. The number of seats was later reduced to 280. In 2011 the Fama Kino #2 was closed and demolished. The new building at the site also named Fama has a private screening room.
