Located in the centre district of St Pauli. The Hansen Lichtspiele was opened in December 1906 with 570-seats. In 1917 it was listed as the New Modern Lichtspiele operated by Albert Hansen. In 1920 it was re-named Hansen Theater and was operated by Willy Heidtmann. In 1928 the cinema was expanded to 700-seats and re-named Hansen Kino and was operated by John Hansen & Willy Heidtmann. In 1931 it was expanded again to 764 seats and was operated by the Nord Film Theater GMBh. A Klangfilm sound system was installed in 1932. In 1937 it was operated by Emil Schneider & Arthur Wolter.
In 1940 the theater was renamed Hansen Lichtspiele, but was closed in 1941, possibly due to conditions in World War II.
It was re-opened in 1948 and was operated by Schneider & Hansen. In 1955 it was equipped with CinemaScope and the M7 projectors by Bauer were replaced by FH66 projectors by Frieske & Hoepfner. In 1956 3D projection was added. The Lichtspiele Hansen was closed in 1962. Later the building was in use as a supermarket & store.
