Located in the Hill Top district, to the north of West Bromwich and south of Wednesbury, in the West Midlands ‘Black Country’. The Hill Top Picture House was opened on 27th July 1921. It was refurbished in late-1938, re-opening on 2nd January 1939 as the Rex Cinema. It was closed in December 1960. The final film shown was Kirk Douglas in “The Vikings”.
It was sold to the Dart Spring Co. to be used as a store room. Around 1976 it was sold to David Siviter of Dudley Street Motors Ltd. and was demolished to make way for an extension of his premises.
