The Rex Theatre was opened in the 1920’s. All seats were on a single floor. In the 1940’s it was operated by the Rex Theatres chain who operated cinemas throughout Queensland. By 1950 it was operated by W.B. Giles & Son. By 1956 it was operated by R. Simmonds & W. McMullen. It was still open in 1969 when it was operated by N & V Johnson.
In 2019 the former Rex Theatre is occupied by Miles Auto-Parts.
