Located in the Harburg district to the south of Hamburg. The Wallhof Kino was opened on 21st January 1911. It was located on Wallstrasse 23 (later re-named Neue Strasse 19 and today Wallgraben 23). The Wallhof Kino was operated by Friedrich Kasat. In 1918 it was operated by Axel Furnstam. In 1920 M. Hahn took over and in 1921 it was operated by Kurt Schneider. In 1925 Johannes Paulson took over. In 1928 it was re-named Schauburg Harburg. In 1937 took over, followed in 1938 by Hans Overweg.
In 1944 the cinema was destroyed by Allied bombs during World War II.
In 1950 Hans Overweg built a new cinema on the site of the Schauburg Harburg which opened as the Astoria Filmtheater and was later re-named Die Kurbel Harburg (it has its own page on Cinema Treasures).
