Located in the centre district of Neustadt. The Merkur Theater was listed in 1914 and operated by Theodor Bofin. In 1927 Willhelm Seeman operated the cinema. In 1931 Richard Volger took over and in 1932 a sound system was installed. In 1933 Ferdinat Soggen operated the cinema and in 1934 Holda Grohe took over. In 1937 the cinema was operated by Paul Suessmilch.
The Merkur Theater was closed in 1941 possibly due to conditions during World War II.
