Billboard reported on September 11, 1954: “A 300-car drive-in has been opened at Wadena, Sask., by Mike Pluhator and sons. The adjustable screen tower may be lowered for the winter season or for repairs and the screen itself may be raised or lowered by means of a winch”.
The Motion Picture Almanac didn’t notice the Amibo Drive-In in Wadena until its 1964 edition, when it listed it with capacity 300, owner Mike Pluhator Sr., and nothing changed through the final MPA Canadian drive-in list in 1976.

This drive-in was located about half a mile north of the town on SK-25, there’s a property directly south of the hotel along this road, this is where the drive-in was. An old Google Earth image from 2012 shows the ramp marks and screen/concession building foundations. Nothing remains, a house has been built on the site.
