On October 9, 1954, Billboard announced, “Fifth drive-in theater in the Calgary, Alta., district is the newly opened Lake Shore, with accommodation for 500 cars. Operators is Paul Hanson”. It had opened on August 20, 1954 with Doris Day in “On Moonlight Bay”.
The Lake Shore’s first entry in the Motion Picture Almanac drive-in lists was the 1960 edition under Chestermere (where it had a capacity of 450), owned by Paul Hanson. The 1964 edition added another Lake Shore listing under Lake Chestermere, capacity 500, also owned by Paul Hanson. Both entries continued through 1969 before dropping from the 1970 edition.

I wonder whether all of these features made it into the finished product.
Boxoffice, July 18, 1953: “Construction of a $250,000 combination drive-in theatre, restaurant, motel and service station at Chestermere Lake, a suburb of Calgary, is scheduled to begin this summer and be ready for business in 1954. Tentative plans also call for construction of a golf course, swimming pool, bowling alley, tennis court and children’s playground. Paul Hansen, a Calgary real estate man, is in charge of the promotion. Plans call for a glass-fronted auditorium with a seating capacity of 350 to cater to walk-in patrons. Capacity of the outdoor theatre will be 500 cars.”
Opened On August 20, 1954 With “On Moonlight Bay” Along With A Cartoon Festival.
