Located in front of the main Railway Station in the city centre. The Dea Lichtspiele was opened in 1922 and was operated by the Deutsch Americakanische Filmgesellschaft GmbH. In 1922 the Hannoverische Theaterbetriebe GmbH took over the cinema and it was re-named Palast Lichtspiele Alterations were carried out to the plans of an architect named Hartjenstein. In 1931 it was taken over by the Ufa Theater GmbH and a sound system was installed Around 1941 the cinema was destroyed by Allied bombs during World War II.
In 1948 a new Palast Theater was built and opened on the site. (It has its own page on Cinema Treasures).
