Located in the Holsterhausen district to the southwest of the city centre. The Gemar Palast was opened in 1930 as part of the Gemarhaus. The architect was Hans Schafer. It was operated by Gemar Palast Lichtspiele GmbH. In 1932 a sound system was installed. In 1937 Erich Menz & Jaeck Filmtheater betriebe took over. The size of the stage was 6 x 11 metres. The seats were by Schroeder & Henzelmann. The building survived during World War II without and damage. It was closed as a cinema in 1971. Later it began use as a supermarket which in 2008 was named Edeka.
