Reel Cinema

In Chorley, Lancashire, during 2019, the Council-owned Market Walk shopping centre was extended, with the intention of “broadening the appeal of the town to assure its long term future”.

This provided room for a crazy golf course, bowling alley, Loungers restaurant, M&S Foodhall - and, of course, a cinema, an amenity that was long overdue (the most recent commercial cinema, the Plaza/Studios 1-4, having closed way back in August 1986).

Located in Unit 6 of the Market Walk Extension and operated by Reel Cinemas, this has five ‘Premiere’ screens (seating 64, 78, 99, 137 and 164) and a 39-seat ‘VIP Lounge’, which offers reclining leather seating and food and drink in an all-inclusive ticket.

There is also a bar, and Reel’s usual concessions “The Sweet Barrel” and “Cream & Cones”, offering a range of confectionery, ice creams, waffles and milkshakes.

The cinema opened on Friday 20th December 2019, in time for blockbuster release “Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker”. Over the opening weekend, all tickets in the ‘Premiere’ screens were just £5.
