Located in the east Liverpool district of Old Swan. The Swan Picturedrome was opened in April 1916. Seating was provided on a stadium plan, with a raised stepped section at the rear rather than a conventional overhanging balcony. In 1925 it was re-named Swan Cinema and was programming pictures and variety. It was equipped with a Western Electric(WE) sound system and screened its first ‘talkie on 17th February, 1930: Victor McLaglen in “King of the Khyber Rifles”. By 1937 until 1947 it was operated by the Liverpool based Regent Enterpises Ltd. chain.

Briefly re-named New Swan Cinema in January 1953, it was closed on 22nd July 1956 with Cecil Parker in “I Believe in You” & Shelley Winters in “The Raging Tide”. It became a bingo club in the early-1960’s and later a private club named ‘The Swan’ I has since been demolished.
