Princess Theatre

The 1914 Sanborn shows ‘Moving Pictures’ operating in the ground floor of the G.W. Kohn building, constructed in 1912. The second and third floors were used as hotel rooms by the neighboring Hotel Marsh. By 1924, this space had reverted to use as a store.

At some point around 1930-50, a bay was stripped off the front of the building and filled in with mismatched brick and steel frame windows. During recent renovations to turn the building into apartments, a very unattractive 1970’s or 1980’s storefront has been removed.
