The Midway Drive-In was opened by 1949 when it was operated by F.R. Jones. By 1952 it was operated by Cecil W. Curtis. It was still open in 1957.

There was a small drive-in located at the current address of Mahogany Drive, Galax. Its roughly between Galax and Hillsville so I guess it could be the location of the Midway?
