Located in the city centre district of Innenstadt. On 30th October 1910 the Lichtspiele Konigsalle opened. The street was also known as Konigsale. The 600-seat theatre was operated by Walter Gordern. The architect was Oskar Rosenthal. Between 1912 to 1931 it was renamed Rheinische Lichtspiele, Lichtspiele, Union Theater U.T., National Lichtspiele U.T., National Theater, Titania Theater, and U.T. an der Konigsallee. From 1931 it was re-named Lichtburg Filmtheater. In 1943 it was demolished by Allied bombs during World War II.
The Lichtburg Filmtheater was rebuilt and re-opened in 1946 with 650-seats. In 1951 it was modernised to the plans of architect Hanns Ruttgers. In 1972 the cinema was teinned and around 1980 a 3rd screen was added. The seating was 217, 200 & 99.
On 21st December 2006 the Lichtburg Filmtheater was closed and following demolition a sore was built on the site.
