Located in the city centre, close to Dusseldorf Hauptbahnhof (railway station). The Europa Filmtheater was opened in 1971 as a single screen cinema. It was operated by Heinz Riech Filmtheaterbetriebe based in Warendorf. It was part of the Ufa chain. Universal projectors for 35mm & 70mm film and a 6-channel stereophonic sound system were installed. Later it was multiplexed into 6-screens with 483, 117, 65, 71, 52 & 48 seats. The cinema was closed around 1989 and the building was demolished in 2014.
