The Rex Theatre is located on the south side of the square in Boonville located a few blocks away from the much larger Ritz Theatre also in Boonville. The Rex Theatre opened on November 1, 1942 with Cary Grant, Jean Arthur and Ronald Colman in “The Talk of the Town”. As of March 1944 after new management was taken place at the Rex Theatre, it was owned by Ed Lyoch. The Rex Theatre was still operation in 1959. It was then closed for two years, reopening in 1961. By 1972 it was operating as a special events venue.

They Continued To Operate As A Movie House Until 1959 And Was Closed For 2 Years Until Reopening In April 1961. It is Still In Operation Since 1972 As A Special Events Theater.
