Acme Theatre

Despite the Odeon (later Linda) Theatre became the first (well-known popular) theatre in the city of Whitewright, I have gone back through various info about this short-lived theatre called the Acme Theatre. The opening date is nowhere to be found, as the earliest information I can find is a November 1911 notice. Not even a year later in June 1912, the Acme Theatre is not a successful theatre, and the theatre is leased by former manager Joe Turner, which was later taken over by Mr. J. Finis Horne at the time. The Acme Theatre closed between 1912 and 1913, and was followed by the May 1914 grand opening of the more popular Odeon Theatre.
