Located in the district of Nippes to the north of the city. The Victoria Lichtspiele was opened in 1920 with 350-seats. It was operated by Brodmeyer. In 1935 it was re-named Union Lichtspiele and was operated by Josef Grohe. The cinema was destroyed by Allied bombs in 1943 during World War II.
In 1952 a new cinema was built at this site and opened as the Union Theater. It had 600-seats and was operated by Dr. Sander KG, who also operated the Rex Filmtheater in Wuppertal. The AP XII projectors were by Askania. The seats were by Schroeder & Henzelmann. In 1956 a CinemaScope screen and the Klangfilm sound system were installed. The screen measured 5x9 meters. In 1958 it was renovated to the plans of architect Hanns Ruttgers. The walls were grey & beige. The screen curtain was made of red silk.
The Union Theater was closed in 1961. By 2008 the building was in use as a bicycle store.
