Opened in(December 1852?) with magic acts on the 1st floor(named after Robert Houdin). Sold after Robert Houdin’s death in 1888 by his widow to George Melies. George Melies began screening films here from 5th April 1896. He screened his movie “A Trip to the Moon” in December 1902. George Melies used the Theatre Robert-Houdin to showcase his films. Closed in 1914 at the start of World War I. Demolished in 1924 for an extension of Boulevard Haussmann.
