Clinton Cinemas

The Clinton Cinemas were built by Simpson Theatres on the West side of the Twin-Aire Drive-In. The East side screen of the Twin-Aire remained open. The new theatres shared the existing concession area with the dive-in. The largest of the two indoor theatres had 400 rocking chair seats, and the smaller auditorium seated 300. The theatres opened December 2, 1982 with “48 Hours” and “Poltergeist”. The Clinton Cinemas along with the Twin-Aire Drive-In closed at the end of September 1988. Walmart is currently at the sight of the former theatres/drive-in.

The Walmart opened at the site on July 14, 2004 as a replacement of an earlier location that had been operating since August 31, 1989. The original location was demolished after the Supercenter’s launch.
