The State Theatre was first listed in the 1936 edition of Film Daily Yearbook. From the 1941 edition of Film Daily Yearbook it was listed as a (portable) theatre with 150-seats. Still listed the same in 1943. By 1950 the State Theatre was listed with 304 seats and was the same in 1957.
Strangely in 1926 thru 1929 there was a 150-seat Scenic Theatre operating in town.
