During the early 20th century, Lakin had only a handful of theatres in its history books.
The city of Lakin’s most popular theatres were the Pastime Theatre and the Electric Theatre. During half of the Pastime Theatre’s run from 1912 until 1917, the Electric Theatre opened its doors as early as July 1915 and became a major hot-spot for moviegoers in Lakin. The Electric Theatre was still open in 1931, but had closed by 1932.
