Located in el Silencio district of the city centre, close to the Theatro Urdaneta. The Teatro Metropolitano was opened on 30th July 1952 with Cantiflas in “Si Yo Fuera Diputado”. Seating was provided for 1,095 in the orchestra and 347 in the balcony. It was one of the premiere cinemas of Caracas and was equipped with a Hammond organ and a Steinway piano. As well as screening movies it presented live shows and artists who appeared on the stage include Yma Sumac. Maria Felix, Josephine Baker and tenor Tito Schipa. It was still open in 1992. The building still stands in 2020, use unknown.
