This cinema, the first years under the direction of father and son Hinke, was one in the series of REMA NV van Royen and was opened on December 20, 1933. The architects of the new building were Gulden & Geldmaker. It became a narrow, deep building whose façade was covered with brown ceramic tiles.
This neighbourhood cinema closed at the beginning of 1961 to open again as Ambassade in 1962, but the new name lasted only till 1970.
It now houses the Brazilian based church United Church of the Kingdom of God (UCKG).
