Opened in 1952 at Sonnenalle 210 corner to Braunschweiger Strasse in the Neukolln area of Berlin, designed by architect Johannes Hayer with 531 seats. The Lux Lichtspiele was a border cinema with easy access for the people of East Berlin, until 1961 when the Berlin Wall was built resulting to the cinema closing in 1965 due to falling visitors numbers. It became a supermarket, and since 2016, the building serves as an auto repair store.
