Yes, as mentioned above, this was part of the Manos chain. Unfortunately, the theatre was closed when I passed by so I can’t much information. Three years ago it was only open Friday through Sunday

The Manos Theatre opened on April 1, 1953, according to this item from Motion Picture Daily of that date:

“Manos House to Open

“Columbiana. O., March 31. — George Manos' new 800-seat Manos Theatre here is set for opening tomorrow. This, the circuit’s 15th theatre, has been more than two years in building.”

Tragically, the theater sits empty 350 days a year. What a shame.
The extensive remodeling that was done a few years back was extraordinary.
Now if only the new owner could figure out how to make it a viable, ongoing business.

Was there a theater in East Palestine? If so, what was the name of it?

For anyone that is interested, the Columbiana Cinema is undergoing renovations and they are selling their old theater chairs! I just pick up six today and they are in great shape!

papibear: Great night photo with the lighted curved marquee and the big C above. My former hometown theatre had a curved marquee and they are so very unique.

Just met some friends who grew up with the Columbiana so they had many great theatre memories to share!
