Located in Stanley, County Durham, 5 miles west of Chester Le Street. The Theatre Royal was opened in 1905. The proscenium was 26ft wide, the stage 34ft deep and there were seven dressing rooms. In 1911 it was granted a Cinematograph Licence. It was destroyed by dire in February 1930.
