Located in Shotts, Lanarkshire, to the east of Glasgow. The Empire Theatre was a music hall/ It began operating as a cinema from 1912. Around 1930 it was equipped with a British Acoustic(BA) sound system. It was operated by the Thomas Ormiston circuit. The Empire Theatre was closed by 1963 and was converted into a Top Flight Bingo Club. That had closed by 1999 and the building had been converted into a factory. The building was ‘For Sale’ in 2002. It has since been demolished.
