Centre West Twin Theatre I & II

Centre West Shopping Center was built in 1979 and two entertainment destinations were there at the outset. One was the Centre West Twin Theatre I & II and the other was the Arcade-One Family Entertainment Center. The Arcade was the clear winner with 1,500 youths playing quarter eating games and hanging out. Arcade-One zapped the life out of everything else in the plaza due to volume of youths and the lease was pulled ending its run in 1982.

The movie theatre’s listings disappeared during 1986 likely leaving the plaza as the Sabal Palms VI took a lot of the wind out of its sails. The plaza continued into the 2020’s as the Mary Matha Shopping Center.
