Based on the 1960 aerial, the cemetery was already being put into place. You can see the distinctive “roundabout” end to the road in the 1960 aerial that is still part of the cemetery today.
So, it seems that the property was purchased with the cemetery in mind.
Now I see. Thanks for the correction ballen270! However, there’s some corrections that I can determine.
The Midway Drive-In actually housed 250 cars, not 500. Judging by the size of it, it would’ve been much larger if it housed 500 cars. Some original installations include a 40x100ft CinemaScope screen and an indoor viewing area housing 50 people. This was last known as North Fulton Drive-In, and closed after the 1957 season. The screen was removed in 1960.

This Drive in Theater was never called the Marlboro Drive in. The Marlboro Drive in was on the other side of town on Highway 45 a mile and a half south of South Fulton, Tennessee. I don’t think this Drive in closed in 1962 because my Uncle and Aunt went to it and they didn’t get together until 1965. This Drive in Theater was always called Midway to my knowledge.
The Midway Drive-In opened its gates on June 22, 1955 with a one-day showing of Barry Sullivan in “The Miami Story” (unknown if extras added). It was renamed the Fulton Drive-In in April 1957 and was renamed the Marbro Drive-In in May 1961. It was closed after the 1962 season.

This address lines up with the entrance to the cemetery which appears to be the entrance to the old drive-in.
