In “A History of Film Exhibition in Caldwell County,” Gary R. Boye wrote, “The Skylite was first listed as being in Sawmills and then from 1953 in Granite Falls, although presumably in the same location.” Boye listed its dates as 1949-1956.

The June 25, 1955 issue of Boxoffice reported, “Jack E. Moore, owner of the Skylite Drive-In of Granite Falls, N. C., the largest in Caldwell County, has the property up for sale.”

Opened November 30, 1949 with “Grapes of Wrath.” Appears to have closed July 9, 1956 with “Far Country” and “House of Terrors.” This information is not from “A History of Film Exhibition in Caldwell County” by Gary R. Boye but is from the daily newspaper.
