Located in Falkirk, Stirlingshire. The Pavilion Cinema was opened by the Lyons Circuit in August 1914 with 950-seats. It was taken over by the Thomas Ormiston chain around 1918, and in March 1928 it was taken over by the Denman/Gaumont British circuit. In September 1932 it was equipped with a British Acoustic(BA) sound system and its first ‘talkie’ was George Arlis and Bette Davis in “The Man Who Played God” (aka The Silent Voice).
The Pavilion Cinema was enlarged in 1933 and the seating capacity was increased to 1,337. On 3rd April 1950 it was re-named Gaumont by Circuits Management Association(CMA). It was modernised in 1956 and was damaged by a fire in 1957 which closed the cinema for a month. Operated by the Rank Organisation it was renamed Odeon on 16th December 1962.
The Odeon Falkirk was closed on 22nd September 1973 with Roger Moore in “Live and Let Die”. It was quickly demolished and shops and offices were built on the site.
