Opened in a new city centre development in February 2003, FACT is a arts centre containing four cinemas, two galleries, a multi-media centre, cafe and bars.

The entrance is a tall curved corner with an enormous window displaying the dramatic concrete staircase which links the three levels of the centre (lifts are also available!).

The box office in on the ground floor with the cafe, Gallery 1, the Media Lounge (dedicated to online, computer and video based art) and The Box. The latter is a flexible cinema with full sized screen, projection room and twenty five 2-seat sofas adding up to a unique cinema!

The first floor houses the bar and Gallery 2. The Picturehouse is at second floor level and has three screens of 250, 100, and 100 seats. The auditoria are plain with comfortable seating in a very steeply raked single tier. Large screens and state of the art sound make these a very welcome addition to the Liverpool cinema scene.

This cinema is now the best place in liverpool to see a film, screen one has the facilities for 70mm and digital as well as 35mm, THX certified design and sound system. the staff are brilliant, and if you become a member there are a few free screenings of forthcoming movies well before release.
An added bonus is you can take drinks purchased from the bar into the cinemas with you – how civilised.
PS they don’t sell hotdogs so no strange smells in the screens.
