There is little documentation on the Happy Hour Theatre but it appears to be the first motion picture operation in downtown Tishomingo. The Happy Hour Theatre likely opened in December of 1909 in an existing retail location. Competition came from the Majestic Theatre the next year and the Cox Opera House that opened in 1911.
The Majestic Theatre moved its moving picture show to the Opera House followed, in 1914, by Gillian & Cox who began their movie business in the Opera House. The Happy Hour Theatre appears to have ceased operations in 1916 with the building converted back to other retail operations.
