This originally opened as the Red Wing Cinema 5 in 1995 as a replacement of the downtown Chief Theater that closed around the same time as the five-screener’s opening. Unfortunately, that theater closed when it was relocated a couple of retailers to the west at the former Kmart, that had been abandoned since its closure on April 13, 2003. The Kmart operated for 20 years since its opening on March 24, 1983.
The theater reopened at the old Kmart site as the Evergreen Cinema 8 on February 13, 2010.
Replaced a former Kmart which operated from March 24, 1983 until April 13, 2003.
The former Evergreen Cinema 8 had it’s grand opening under the ownership of Chris and Amber Brown on February 13, 2010.
