Grandfield Amusement Company launched New Theatre launched October 24, 1919 in a building that had housed the Hubbard Hardware store. The company had operated an airdrome and moved its stage to the New Theatre. It opened with motion pictures and live vaudeville. A neighboring business in the same building was the New Theatre Café. Just six months later, the Princess Theatre opened on March 15, 1920 with tiny Grandfield becoming a two theatre town.
The competition didn’t last long and the New Theatre went out of business in August of 1922. It was auctioned off in October of 1922 with H.H. Roark buying the property and tearing it down.

Uploaded a photo of the New Theatre. The caption in the source says the photo was from 1914 but also identifies it as the Fox despite the name New Theatre on the building. That’s two for two.
