Located in Auckland city centre on Queen Street at the corner with Durham Street W. The King George Pictures was opened on 10th February 1912. Seating was provided in stalls and dress circle levels. It was demolished in 1917 and was replaced by the National Theatre, one of the city’s earliest purpose built cinemas (which later became the Art Deco styled Century Theatre).
