Located at W. Third Street at City Limits, across Highway 123 to the west of the National Zinc Smelter plant and half a mile west of Bartlesville on Highway 60. The Dri-Vin opened on July 23rd, 1948 with Dana Andrews in “Canyon Passage”. Listed as a ‘portable’ drive in, operated by Joe Noble. On November 11, 1948 it suffered a small fire in the projection box which closed the theatre for a short while. In May 1949 the Dri-Vin Recreational Park opened which had facilities with horseshoes, croquet, badminton and archery, all free with the purchase of a theatre ticket. The theatre was short-lived as it closed down in December 1949 with Clark Gable in “Gone with the Wind”. It was demolished and Phillips Research Center buildings were built on the site.
