The Cochise Theater is operated by Army and Air Force Exchange Services (AAFES) as Realtime Theaters. A base press release notes it closed November 30, 2012, because it was losing $38,160 a year. Improvement and an upgrade to digital would cost $150,000. Evidently those improvements were made because it reopened in May 2014.
As with many Reeltime Theaters film distributors give them pre-release showings of important films. On May 10, 2014, it presented “Godzilla” ahead of its May 16 national release.
Reeltime Theaters operates 36 locations in the US, 22 in Europe and 17 at Pacific bases.
