Located in Tonbridge, Kent. The Kinema de Luxe was opened on 2nd January 1914. It was operated by ‘Buster’ West. From May 1915 he renamed it Empire Picture Palace. It was closed on 21st May 1932 with Walter Forde in “Wait and See”.

In September 1932 it re-opened as the New Empire Theatre, hosting the County Players who presented plays. Later in the late-1940’s it was presenting Chinese nudes and stuntmen and was re-named Playhouse. It was closed in spring of 1955. It was then used for storage by S. Ramsey & Co. from 1958 to 1962 when it was demolished. A Ford car dealership was built on the site. This too has been demolished.
