The Paramount Theatre was opened by the Paramount Theatre Circuit on April 27, 1920 with “The World of Columbus”. Paramount then purchased the competing 12-year old Crystal Theatre and decided to close it permanently. The Paramount Theatre was sold after being equipped for sound in 1931.
New operators changed the name to the New Humboldt Theatre then Humboldt Theatre. The theatre was still going strong into the 1960’s.
